From Townships to Sisterships

May 13, 2009 –  In Ontario, the Townships of Chisholm, WhiteWater Region, and Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan recently have, or will be in the near future, converting from their Top Down Logic (TDL) system to Vadim’s iCity.

Township of Chisholm
The administrative staff at the Township of Chisholm researched software vendors, made their recommendation to council, and council decided on Vadim. Lorena Thompson, Deputy Clerk Treasurer, said the software “looks easy to use,” and that “Vadim is on top of new government legislation.” They felt there is much potential for expansion with this software.

The Township currently does their payroll manually so they are looking forward to saving time with Vadim’s Payroll module.

The Township of Chisholm has a population of 1,200 and is located approximately three and a half hours north of Toronto. Chisholm purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Property Taxation, Cash Receipting, and Fixed Assets.

Township of WhiteWater Region
Annette Mantifel, Treasurer, says the challenge with their current system is that it is DOS based and doesn’t offer the bells and whistles of most other, more current software systems. CartêGraph’s software and Vadim’s Tax module stood out the most to WhiteWater. When speaking with current Vadim users, they were pleased to find there is a high caliber of support provided to clients. Annette is looking forward to “new technology, better reporting capabilities and improving processes, especially to do with taxes.”

Located an hour and a half west of Ottawa, the Township of WhiteWater Region has about 6,500 residents. The Township purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Property Taxation, Utility Billing, Cash Receipting, Building Permits, Fixed Assets, Pet Licenses and VadimVIEW.

Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan
Michelle Mantifel, Clerk Treasurer, said they “knew it would be Vadim all along”. Not only do they like the software, but the staff as well. They like that Vadim’s iCity is easy to use Windows based system and are looking forward to learning the system.

The Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan is located two and a half hours west of Ottawa and has about 1,500 residents. The Township purchased iCity General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Property Taxation, Cash Receipting and Building Permits.

From Townships to Sisterships
As you may have noticed, Annette and Michelle have the same surname – that’s because they’re sisters. It seems that treasury runs in the family! The Township of WhiteWater Region, located in Cobden where Annette is and the Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, located in Palmer Rapids where Michelle resides are about an hour apart from one another.

We also have another “sister set” in the Ottawa Valley. Chantal Mclean-Leroux, Treasurer of the City of Clarence-Rockland, ON, and France Mclean-Leroux, Administrative Assistant of the Village of Casselman, ON are siblings, too.
